Websites for shops

Shop website design.

A lot of independent shops don’t need a full online store. They need a page that says what you sell, when you’re open, and where the door is.

This is for shop owners who want a website. It isn’t a shop, and it won’t list other people’s products.

Searchers looking for “shops near me”, or for your shop by name, want hours and a reason to visit. If you also sell online, we can connect payment links from your own Stripe account. A large catalogue with stock levels and shipping rules is more than the £500 site — that kind of build is quoted from around £1,200.

The £500 version is a proper brochure: your range in plain language, photos of your own shelves or products, opening hours, and how to visit, call or reserve something.

Built for this work

What a website for shops needs.

What you sell

Categories in real text — not a single photo of the window — so someone can tell if you stock what they need.

Hours and holidays

Opening hours that can be updated for bank holidays and stocktakes, matching your Google Business Profile.

Find the shop

Address, map, parking and whether there’s a step at the door.

Reserve or ask

A form to ask if you have an item, or to request a hold, if that’s how you work.

Pay online, if you want

Stripe payment links from your own account, for deposits or a small set of products. You set up Stripe. I connect the links.

Searches your customers type

What people type when they need a shop.

This page is for shops who want a website. The search it answers is “shop website design”. It is not a listing, and it does not pretend to be a shop.

Your own customers search for something else:

  • “shops near me”
  • “your shop’s name”
  • “do you stock”

Many independent shops need hours, what you sell and how to find the door — not a full online shop on day one. If you do take payment, that is your own Stripe account, connected to the site.

A useful site names your services and the places you cover, in real text, with a proper title on each page and a phone number that works on a mobile. Your free Google Business Profile (opens in a new tab) is the other half: the listing that can show your hours, phone number and area on Google and Maps. Use the same name, address and phone number as the website. I don’t write reviews, and none of this is a promise of a position in the results.

Tips

Getting the most from it.

  • Put holiday hours on the site before the weekend people will turn up to a locked door.
  • Photograph your own shop. Generic high-street photos don’t help anyone find you.
  • If you don’t sell online, say that. People would rather know than hunt for a basket that isn’t there.

Payment plans

Rather spread the cost?

A full website is £500. If you’d rather not pay it all at once, pick one of these plans. Every plan adds up to exactly £500, with nothing extra on top.

Plan 1

£150 up front

then £50 a month for 7 months

Total: £500

Plan 2

£100 up front

then £100 a month for 4 months

Total: £500

Plan 3

3 payments

of £166.67, £166.67 and £166.66

Total: £500

  • Monthly payments are taken automatically by card, through Stripe — nothing to remember.
  • Once it’s paid off, you choose: a £10-a-month hosting and care plan, or a full handover of your site.
  • Your own domain is extra, at around £5–£10 a year.

Note: you buy your own domain (around £5–£10 a year) — it’s yours to keep. Want to take payments? You set up your own Stripe account and I’ll connect it. The longer notes are a cheap website for a small business and a pay monthly website.

FAQ

Common questions.

Will I get a full online shop for £500?

No. £500 covers a small-business site: what you sell, hours, location and enquiries, plus payment links if you want a few products or deposits. A full catalogue shop is quoted separately, from around £1,200.

Can people check if something is in stock?

The form can ask the question, and you reply. Live stock levels need a system behind them, which isn’t part of the £500 site.

I already sell on a marketplace. Do I still need this?

A marketplace is useful, and you can keep it. Your own site is the address you put on the bag, the window and Google, with your hours and your story, not only a product grid.

Will this rank for “shops near me”, “your shop’s name”, “do you stock”?

No. Those are searches your customers type when they want a shop, and I can’t promise a position on Google. This page is for shop website design. On your site I will write your services and the places you cover in plain text, set a proper title on each page, and make it work on a phone. You should also set up your free Google Business Profile with the same name, address and phone number. That gives Google accurate information about the business. It is not a guarantee.

How much does it cost, and can I pay monthly?

A full website is £500, or you can spread the cost: £150 up front then £50 a month for 7 months, £100 up front then £100 a month for 4 months, or three payments of £166.67, £166.67 and £166.66. Every plan totals exactly £500, and monthly payments are taken automatically by card through Stripe. You buy your own domain separately, at around £5–£10 a year.
